Kindle Will Not Turn On
Kindle does not respond to the touch and displays the 'no battery' icon.
Kindle is Not Charged
Though the Kindle has a long battery life, it won't live forever! The Kindle 7th Generation does not come with a battery charger, but if you have not purchased one, any micro USB charger should work. Plug your Kindle in; the Kindle should charge in less than 6 hours according to Amazon.
Charger is Faulty
The problem may not be with the Kindle, and instead be a problem with the charging cord itself. Try charging a familiar device with the same charging cord you used with the Kindle to verify that it functions properly. If the cord cannot charge your other device, it is most likely faulty and a new one should be purchased.
Battery is Faulty
Plug your Kindle in using a charger that you know works. If the Kindle still does not charge, this is a sign of a faulty battery and the battery needs to be replaced.
Motherboard is Faulty
The Kindle is a relatively simple device in that it does not contain many components. Through process of elimination, faulty parts can be narrowed down easily. If the Kindle does not turn on after the previous steps, it is likely that the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Screen is Frozen
The Kindle does not respond to touch; display remains the same.

Screen is Dirty
The Kindle 7th Gen.'s touch capability is made possible by infrared LED lights around the border of the screen. Blocking these lights will make it difficult for the Kindle to sense your touch. Use a soft cloth and designated electronic screen cleaner to clean the screen, and make sure there is nothing blocking the screen edges!
Battery Life is Low
It is possible the Kindle will not respond if the battery is too low. Plug in and charge your Kindle.
Kindle Requires a Restart
Sometimes all a machine needs is a good restart to get it functioning like it is supposed to. Unplug your Kindle if it is currently charging and reboot your Kindle by holding the power button on the bottom of the device for 30 seconds.
LED Circuit Board is Faulty
The 'touch screen' sensation is created by a grid of infrared LED lights and receptors above the display screen. When your finger breaks the grid at a certain point, a 'touch' is registered in the device. It is possible that the circuit board in charge of this function is faulty, and needs to be replaced.
Kindle Will Not Connect to Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi symbol does not appear and web-based applications will not load.
Wifi is Not Enabled
The Kindle cannot connect to wi-fi if you don't let it! Verify that the Kindle's wireless connection setting is enabled.
Router and/or Modem Issues
If you still cannot connect to Wifi, you may be experiencing problems with your router and/or modem. First turn off the Kindle, then turn off your router and/or modem. After 30 seconds, turn your router and/or modem back on, and attempt to connect through your Kindle. If you still cannot connect, there may be issues with your service provider.
